From 3 September 2026 the incentive is tiered by Maximum Laden Weight. Vehicles above 3,500 kg and up to 7,000 kg MLW receive S$15,000, reduced from S$40,000. Vehicles above 7,000 kg MLW continue to receive S$40,000. Both are disbursed in three tranches over two years.

- · Vehicles registered using COEs obtained before the first September 2026 bidding exercise keep S$40,000 regardless of MLW
- · Vehicles must be newly registered within the scheme window
- · Battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell electric (FCEV) vehicles both qualify subject to LTA VTA
How to apply
- 1. Ensure the vehicle model has completed LTA Vehicle Type Approval (VTA) before purchase
- 2. Register the vehicle within the scheme window (1 Jan 2026 – 31 Dec 2028)
- 3. Rebate is disbursed over three tranches — application is administered by LTA at time of registration
- 4. Combine with EHVCG for charger co-funding; different eligibility rules apply per scheme
Caps and window
Quantum reduced for the 3,500–7,000 kg band on 3 September 2026. Vehicles registered on COEs obtained before the first September 2026 bidding exercise are unaffected and still receive S$40,000 — if you have an order in progress, confirm your COE date. Windowed programme to end 2028; rebate is per vehicle, not per operator.

How much is the HVZES grant?
It depends on the vehicle's Maximum Laden Weight. Above 7,000 kg MLW it is S$40,000, disbursed as S$13,000 at registration, S$13,000 at the first anniversary and S$14,000 at the second. Above 3,500 kg and up to 7,000 kg MLW it is S$15,000 from 3 September 2026, disbursed as S$5,000 at registration and S$5,000 at each of the first two anniversaries.
What changed on 3 September 2026?
LTA reduced the incentive from S$40,000 to S$15,000 for zero-tailpipe-emission heavy vehicles above 3,500 kg and up to 7,000 kg Maximum Laden Weight. The S$40,000 incentive continues unchanged for vehicles above 7,000 kg MLW. LTA cited uptake in the lighter segment reaching 55% of new registrations in July 2026.
Does the reduction apply to a vehicle I have already ordered?
Not necessarily. LTA has stated that vehicles registered using COEs obtained before the first September 2026 bidding exercise continue to receive S$40,000 regardless of Maximum Laden Weight. The reduced S$15,000 applies to COEs obtained from that bidding exercise onwards, and to vehicles registered on or after 3 September 2026 where no COE is required. Confirm your COE date with your dealer.
Am I eligible for HVZES?
HVZES applies to zero-tailpipe-emission heavy goods vehicles and buses above 3,500 kg Maximum Laden Weight, newly registered within the scheme window to 31 December 2028. Battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles both qualify, subject to LTA Vehicle Type Approval. The amount depends on whether the vehicle is above or below 7,000 kg MLW.
When does HVZES end?
HVZES remains available until 31 December 2028. Vehicles must be registered within this window to qualify. Registration after 31 December 2028 does not qualify regardless of when the vehicle was ordered.
What happens if I sell the vehicle before the final HVZES tranche?
Transfer of ownership before the second anniversary of registration forfeits the remaining tranches. The amount forfeited depends on the vehicle's weight band and how many tranches have already been paid.
Do electric vans qualify for HVZES?
Only if the van's Maximum Laden Weight is above 3,500 kg. Most electric vans in Singapore sit below the 3,500 kg MLW threshold and do not qualify for HVZES — they typically fall under CVES rebate bands instead.
