HVZES Open

Heavy Vehicle Zero Emissions Scheme

Up to S$40,000 per qualifying heavy EV

Administered by Land Transport Authority (LTA) · Window: 2026-01-01 → 2028-12-31

Support type

Per-vehicle cash rebate

S$40,000 disbursed over three tranches per registered zero-tailpipe-emission heavy goods vehicle or bus above 3,500 kg Maximum Laden Weight.

Who qualifies

  • · Zero-tailpipe-emission heavy goods vehicles (HGV) above 3,500 kg Maximum Laden Weight
  • · Zero-tailpipe-emission heavy buses above 3,500 kg Maximum Laden Weight
  • · Vehicles must be newly registered within the scheme window
  • · Battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell electric (FCEV) vehicles both qualify subject to LTA VTA

How to apply

  1. 1. Ensure the vehicle model has completed LTA Vehicle Type Approval (VTA) before purchase
  2. 2. Register the vehicle within the scheme window (1 Jan 2026 – 31 Dec 2028)
  3. 3. Rebate is disbursed over three tranches — application is administered by LTA at time of registration
  4. 4. Combine with EHVCG for charger co-funding; different eligibility rules apply per scheme

Caps and window

Windowed programme — 2026 to end 2028. Rebate per vehicle, not per operator. Fleet operators applying at scale should confirm tranche timing with LTA.

Notes

This is the flagship SG heavy-vehicle electrification incentive. Combined with EHVCG on the charger side, it substantially closes the diesel-vs-electric TCO gap for the qualifying vehicle classes.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the HVZES grant?

S$40,000 per qualifying heavy EV, disbursed in three tranches: S$13,000 at registration, S$13,000 at year 1 anniversary, and S$14,000 at year 2 anniversary.

Am I eligible for HVZES?

HVZES applies to zero-tailpipe-emission heavy goods vehicles and buses above 3,500 kg Maximum Laden Weight, newly registered between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2028. Battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles both qualify, subject to LTA Vehicle Type Approval.

When does HVZES end?

HVZES runs from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2028. Vehicles must be registered within this window to qualify. Registration after 31 December 2028 does not qualify regardless of when the vehicle was ordered.

What happens if I sell the vehicle before HVZES tranche 3?

Transfer of ownership before the second anniversary of registration forfeits the remaining HVZES tranches. If tranche 1 has been paid and the vehicle transfers ownership within year 1, tranches 2 and 3 (S$13,000 + S$14,000) are forfeited.

Do electric vans qualify for HVZES?

Only if the van's Maximum Laden Weight is above 3,500 kg. Most electric vans in Singapore sit below the 3,500 kg MLW threshold and do NOT qualify for HVZES — they typically qualify for CVES rebate bands instead.
